The forecast, and why it is worth computing
A message circulating on Telegram this week
says a war-like situation can arise within ten days, that a sudden big change
in the world can happen anytime, and that readers should protect their
investments. It carries no chart and no reasoning — only the conclusion.
That is the usual shape of these messages,
and it leaves a reader with two bad options: believe it, or dismiss it. There
is a third. Compute the sky for the stated window and see what is actually
there.
I did that for 4–14 November 2026 in KP
ayanamsa, sidereal, using the Swiss Ephemeris. The result is interesting on
both counts. The sky in that window is genuinely unusual, and the technique
behind the statement is legible — you can reconstruct exactly which
combinations produced it. Whether those combinations justify the conclusion is
a separate question, and the last section of this article is where I take it
up.
This is how I think forecasts should be
read in financial astrology: reproduce the calculation, name the rule being
applied, then ask what that rule's base rate actually is.
What is actually in the sky, 4–16 November 2026
The window does not peak where the message
implies. It peaks at its far edge, 12–16 November, when four separate events
land inside five days.

The standing positions matter as much as
the events. Through the entire window Jupiter sits locked at Magha 0°56′ to
1°30′, barely moving. Ketu sits at Magha 1°. Rahu sits exactly opposite at
Dhanishta 1° in Aquarius. Saturn is retrograde at Uttara Bhadrapada 14°–15° in
Pisces, with Neptune seven degrees behind it in the same nakshatra.
So Mars spends the first eight days of
November grinding through the most difficult degrees available to it, then
crosses into a slot where two other grahas are already waiting for it, on an
axis the nodes have locked down.
The seven combinations behind the statement
Each of these is a rule a mundane
astrologer would cite in defence of a war-like call. I have put them roughly in
order of weight.
1. Mars conjunct Ketu. This is the single most-cited conflict signature in Vedic and KP
mundane work, and it is exact on 15 November. Ketu is read as a Mars-like graha
stripped of its head — action without deliberation, effect without
announcement. Mars is the commander, weapons, armies, surgeons, fire. Put
together the standard readings are explosions, strikes, covert and special
operations, terrorism, accidents involving machinery. The specific quality is
suddenness, which is where "can happen anytime" in the message comes
from.
2. Mars in gandanta on 12 November. The junction between Ashlesha and Magha is the Cancer–Leo gandanta,
water handing over to fire, and it is considered the harshest of the three.
Mars is already debilitated in Cancer and sitting in Ashlesha — serpent,
poison, concealment, things that strike from cover — for the first half of
November. The classical rule is that a malefic in gandanta does not release its
matter gradually; it brings it to a head at the junction. A trader reading only
the sign change would miss this; the gandanta is the more pointed signal.
3. Jupiter conjunct Ketu, with Rahu
opposite. Jupiter and Ketu together at the same
degree is Guru-Chandala yoga, and it runs through the whole window rather than
for a day. Jupiter signifies counsel, law, treaties, the advisory class and the
restraining voice. Afflicted by Ketu, and then struck by Mars on 16 November,
the significator of agreements is the thing under attack. Rahu sitting exactly
opposite at Dhanishta 1° means the nodal axis is loaded at both ends, so there
is no release valve in the pattern.
4. The field is Magha, in Leo. This is why the reading becomes geopolitical rather than personal.
Leo is the throne, the sovereign, the head of state, the seat of government.
Magha is Ketu's own nakshatra, signifying dynasty, lineage, inherited authority
and the ancestral seat. The triple conjunction is not landing on
ordinary-people houses. It lands precisely on the significator of rulers and
succession.
5. Sun in Vishakha, 8–16 November. Vishakha's presiding deity is Indra-Agni — the king of the gods
paired with fire, the combination traditionally read as weaponry, and the
nakshatra itself carries an aggressive, goal-at-any-cost quality. The Sun then
enters Scorpio on 16 November, moving into a Mars-ruled sign just as the Mars
conjunctions complete.
6. The double station on 14 November. Mercury turns direct in Swati and Venus turns direct in Chitra
within hours of each other. Swati is the diplomacy, trade, treaty and air star,
ruled by Vayu; Mercury retrograde there from 4 to 14 November reads as
negotiations misfiring, statements withdrawn, communiqués misread. Stationary
planets are the sharpest news-trigger points in mundane work, because a graha
standing still is at its most expressive. Venus retrograde in Chitra, a
Mars-ruled star, adds the currency and market-dislocation theme.
7. Saturn retrograde with Neptune in
Uttara Bhadrapada. The slow background: dissolution
of boundaries, maritime and border ambiguity, institutions losing definition.
At seven degrees apart it is a loose conjunction, so I read it as supporting
context rather than a trigger. It has been running most of the year and will
not produce a dated event.
The timing is not arbitrary
The message went out on the evening of 3
November and gave a window of tomorrow to ten days. That is 4 to 13 November,
extending to 14 if counted loosely.
The Mars gandanta crossing falls on 12
November. Both stations fall on 14 November. The two Mars conjunctions fall on
15 and 16 November, just past the stated edge.
So the window brackets the cluster, with
the sharpest events sitting at its closing boundary or a day or two beyond.
Whoever wrote the message was looking at the Mars–Ketu approach. That is a real
piece of calculation, not a guess dressed up, and it deserves to be
acknowledged as such before anything critical is said about it.
If I were drawing the window myself from
these positions, I would have written 12 to 18 November rather than 4 to 13.
The part these messages leave out: base rates
Everything above explains why the forecast
was made. None of it establishes that the forecast is good. Those are different
claims, and the gap between them is where most financial astrology goes wrong.
Consider how often these configurations
occur:
•
Mars conjoins Ketu roughly
every nine to ten months. That is around thirty occurrences since the year
2000.
•
Mars crosses a gandanta three
times in each of its cycles — several times a year.
•
Mercury stations direct three
times a year, Venus roughly every eighteen months.
The Mars–Ketu conjunction alone has fired
about thirty times in twenty-six years. Wars and sudden global ruptures of the
kind the message implies have not. A rule that triggers thirty times and is
credited whenever a conflict happens to fall nearby is not forecasting; it is
waiting.
The genuinely rare element here is the
stack — Mars, Ketu and Jupiter within two degrees in Magha, with Rahu exactly
opposite, while two planets station. That combination is uncommon, and it is
fair to treat this window as more loaded than an ordinary Mars–Ketu passage.
But "uncommon configuration" and "war within ten days" are
separated by a very large inferential leap that nobody in these messages ever
shows their work on.
There is a second problem, and it is
structural. The message is written so that almost any adverse development in
the window confirms it. A border incident, a missile test, a harsh statement, a
sharp market fall, a natural disaster — all of these would be claimed as a hit.
A forecast that cannot fail is not a forecast. If you are going to make calls
like this publicly, the discipline is to state in advance what would count as a
miss.
What a proper test looks like. Take every Mars–Ketu conjunction and every Mars gandanta crossing
from 2000 to 2026. For each, measure Nifty returns and India VIX over a window
of plus or minus seven days around the exact aspect, and compare that
distribution against randomly selected windows of the same length. If the yoga
carries information, the distribution shifts — wider realised range, higher
VIX, fatter left tail. If it does not, the distributions overlap and we should
say so plainly.
I am running exactly this test and will
publish the distribution whichever way it falls. That is the only honest way to
treat a rule you intend to teach.
How to actually use a window like this
My position is that an astrological window
is an input to risk management, never a signal to trade on.
The useful question is not "will there
be a war?" It is: if this window does produce a volatility event, is my
book positioned so that I survive it comfortably? That question is worth asking
in any week, and a loaded transit is a reasonable prompt to ask it. The answer
depends entirely on your own exposure, horizon and risk tolerance, which I know
nothing about.
What I would caution against is the thing
these messages implicitly encourage — restructuring a portfolio on the strength
of a dated prediction. Over twenty-six years of Mars–Ketu conjunctions, an
investor who de-risked at every one would have spent most of their time out of
the market and paid for it heavily.
Mark 12 to 16 November in your calendar.
Watch how the cluster resolves. Write down beforehand what you expect, and then
check it honestly against what happened. Over enough windows that record is
worth more than any single forecast, mine included.
Calculations performed with the Swiss
Ephemeris in KP (Krishnamurti) ayanamsa, sidereal, times in IST. All positions
are reproducible — I am happy to share the script.
